The Maker

Nice to meet you! I'm Jennifer. I am a curious and creative soul that dabbles in many mediums, but my favorites are: knitting, crochet, sewing, woodwork, and clay.

I'm a self-taught knitter, mother-taught seamstress and crocheter, and father-taught woodworker. I've been knitting for 14 years, sewing for over 17, and woodworking for around 4.

When I'm not crafting, I have my hands dirty in the garden, paint on my hands from a home improvement project, or I'm watching other makers on YouTube for inspiration and fun. I currently live in the suburbs of Virginia with my husband and our pets.

The Studio(s)

My artistic domains are spread between my parents' basement in the suburbs and a home office I share with my fiancé and our cats in the country. My parents' basement holds many family treasures I have the pleasure of having for tools. I use my grandfather's old blueprint table as my desk, his band saw for woodwork,  my father's newer carpentry tools to create the pieces I list in my shop.

In the country, I have my grandmother's sewing machine, as well as my Cricut machines and yarn supplies tucked into the office closet. Both creative spaces are a wonderful mix of old and new. I love how it's a mini family reunion every time I power on those passed-down machines. Those same tools my relatives once used steadily in the past are back in service for a new generation to create with, and I love sharing what I make with you.

The Mission

At Eleventh Month Design, it is my mission to create whimsical yarn work notions that are not only fun to have in your stash, but ones that you'll reach for over and over with their durability and ease of use.

The woodwork crosses and hand-knit stuffed animals I make may follow similar patterns and use the same materials, however no two come out exactly the same. This makes them special. Each plush and cross has its own personality, and I hope one of them will speak to you as a gift for yourself or a friend to spread some whimsy and smiles from my crafty studio to you!
